Торонтод болох Монгол судлалын хурлын хөтөлбөр

Энэ сарын 15-18 өдрүүдэд Канад улсын Торонто хотноо Ази Судлалын Нийгэмлэгийн ээлжит хурал болох гэж байгаа билээ. Tус хурлын нэгээхэн хэсэг нь Монгол судлалд зориулагдах юм.

3 сарын 16-ны Баасан гаригийн орой Америкийн Монгол Судлалын Төвийн 10 жилийн ойд зориулсан үзүүлэн-хурал, урлагийн тоглолт, хүлээн авалт болно. Энэхүү үйл ажиллагааг АМСТ-тэй хамтран Монгол Соёлын Төв, Торонто хотын Монголчуудын Холбоо, Хазара Монголчуудын нийгэмлэг зохион байгуулах юм.

3 сарын 17-ны Бямба гаригт "Монгол нийгэмлэг"-ийн жил тутмын хурал, "Монгол хөгжил, уул уурхай, байгаль орчин" сэдэвт дугуй ширээний ярилцлага болно. Тус хуралд Монгол улсаас Канад улсад суугаа Элчин сайд Т. Залаа-Уул оролцоно. Хоёр өдрийн хурлын хөтөлбөр, мэдээллийг дор хавсаргав.

ACMS Reception, Cultural Program and Mongolia Poster Session

Friday March 16, 7:00-10:00pm

Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, Grand Ballroom West

The ACMS will celebrate its 10th anniversary annual meeting with a reception, cultural program, poster presentation and annual business meeting held in the Grand Ballroom West of the Sheraton Centre Hotel from 7:00-10:00pm on Friday March 16, 2012. The meeting is held in conjunction with the Association of Asian Studies (AAS) annual conference. The ACMS reception and cultural program are free and open to all interested parties.

The cultural program will include Mongolian music and food, and is being organized in conjunction with the Toronto area Mongolian community, and the Mongolia Cultural Center (MCC) in Washington, DC. A poster display highlighting academic research and cultural topics related to Mongolia will be held during the reception. To propose a poster or display for the session, please send a brief abstract or description (no more than 250 words) to Baigalmaa at baigalmaa@mongoliacenter.org">baigalmaa@mongoliacenter.org before March 1, 2012. Posters and displays will be accepted on a rolling basis.

The reception and poster session are free and open to the public. Mongolian food and drink will be available, along with Mongolian cultural performances. Posters and information tables will be displayed around the ballroom, and poster presenters will be available to discuss their research and cultural work.

ACMS Annual Membership Meeting - 7:30pm-8:00pm

Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, Grand Ballroom West

The ACMS annual membership meeting will include an update on ACMS operations and programs with reports by ACMS President Bill Fitzhugh of the Smithsonian and ACMS Executive Director, Charles Krusekopf.

Panelists:  Ed Nef, Santis president and movie producer; Steve Saunders, North American Mongolia Business Council president; Tsogzolmaa Dorj-Adiya, University of Quebec, speaking on underground mining and mining safety; Enkhetsetseg Sosorbaram, Sorso Fellow at Indiana University, speaking on oil production in Mongolia; and representatives of mining and environmental groups and the Mongolian Embassy to Canada.

There will be a reception following the round table.
